Digital wellbeing for growing minds
Help your child build healthier digital habits while giving you the tools to manage screen time, online access and device use.
Young Minds App is a parental control and digital wellbeing app for iPhone and Android. From your own phone, you can manage your child’s digital day, set scheduled Screen Time Modes, filter websites, apply content restrictions and see useful insights into how their device is being used.
For families who want stronger protection on iPhone, Young Minds App also offers Anti-Tampering, which provides additional controls and helps prevent protection from being removed or disabled.
Works with iPhone, iPad and Android devices.

A healthier balance
Giving a child their own iPhone can be useful for communication, learning and independence. But it can also mean late-night screen time, distracting apps, inappropriate websites and arguments about when the phone should be put away.
Young Minds App gives parents one place to manage these boundaries while helping children understand why healthy digital habits matter.
Instead of relying only on restrictions, Young Minds combines parental controls with digital wellbeing and age-appropriate online safety learning.

Support understanding, not just restrictions.

Parent and child, connected
The Young Minds Parent App acts as your control centre.
Install the Young Minds Kids app on your child’s iPhone and pair it with their profile. You can then manage supported controls from the Parent App without needing to take your child’s phone every time you want to change a rule.
Young Minds App is designed for families using iPhone, Android, or a mixture of both.
Screen Time Modes
Screen time is not always the same problem at every time of day.
A game that is fine after school may be distracting during homework. Social media may be acceptable in the afternoon but not when your child should be sleeping.
Young Minds App uses scheduled Screen Time Modes to help you create different boundaries for different parts of the day.
Create focused periods for homework and learning by limiting distractions and controlling which online content is available.
Create a calmer period before bedtime and reduce access to distracting content as your child prepares to sleep.
Set a regular bedtime schedule so restrictions apply automatically overnight instead of having the same argument every evening.
Create longer periods away from the device when your family wants a proper digital break.
Create your own scheduled modes to match your family’s needs.
You can also apply different web-access rules during individual modes, giving you more control over what your child can access during study time, bedtime or other scheduled periods.
App access
Young Minds App gives parents additional ways to manage app access on a child’s iPhone.
You can apply app age restrictions to help make sure your child only has access to apps appropriate for the age limit you choose.
With Anti-Tampering enabled, additional iOS controls are available, including stronger app-access and device restrictions.
This gives parents more control than simply asking a child to stop using an app when study time or bedtime arrives.
Young Minds App also provides extensive app management on Android, so families with different types of phones can manage their children from the same parental-control platform.
Web filtering
Children can come across inappropriate content even when they are not deliberately looking for it.
Young Minds App includes web filtering to help parents manage what their child can access online.
You can control websites by category, block specific websites and create different web-access rules for different Screen Time Modes.
For example, during Study Mode you might allow educational websites while restricting entertainment or social-media content. At other times, your normal family web-filtering rules can apply.
Young Minds web protection works through the Young Minds Kids app on the child’s device.
Optional iPhone protection
Parental controls are much less useful if they can simply be switched off.
Young Minds App offers optional Anti-Tampering for iPhone and iPad.
When Anti-Tampering is enabled, it helps prevent your child from removing the Young Minds Kids app or turning off its protection without your knowledge.
It also enables additional iOS controls for managing areas such as app access, the App Store, content restrictions, multiplayer gaming, VPN settings and device date and time.
Preventing date and time changes is particularly useful for scheduled controls because it helps stop device-time changes being used to bypass Bedtime, Daily Limits and other scheduled protections.
Anti-Tampering is enabled using the Young Minds Anti-Tampering app on a Mac or Windows computer. Setup normally takes around 7–15 minutes.
One family, different devices
Families do not always use one type of phone.
A parent might use Android while their child has an iPhone. Another family may have one child using an iPhone and another using Android.
Parent and Kids apps are available for iOS, with optional Anti-Tampering for stronger protection and additional controls.
Parent and Kids apps are available for Android, with extensive app management and supported family controls.
Some controls differ between iPhone and Android because the operating systems provide different device-management capabilities. Young Minds App uses the controls available on each platform while giving parents a consistent place to manage their family.
Digital wellbeing
Young Minds App is designed to help parents understand their child’s digital life, not simply switch things off.
Depending on the device and features being used, parents can see information about device activity and usage, receive useful insights and monitor their child’s location.
At the same time, children can see their own screen-time information and active modes and take part in interactive online-safety learning.
The aim is to help children gradually understand healthy digital habits rather than making parental control purely about punishment or surveillance.
